Some (belated) holiday cheer!
Due to a slight camera mishap, it's taken a bit of time to get any record of Braeger's participation in West Allis's Holiday Parade. But we managed to find a picture, so now here we are!
Some of you might remember how Braeger saved the West Allis Western Days Parade earlier this year. Well, so did West Allis! They invited us to participate in their Holiday Parade too.
After getting a float put together, it was time to go out and wave to the crowds. For a chilly day, (alright, it was downright cold!) it was amazing how many people came out to watch the parade. Attendance probably came close to 3-4,000 people, or more! And they all seemed happy to see us. Apparently the Western Days Parade was something very important to the community, since we heard every few feet another person shout out a thanks to us for our donation to it.
As for the Holiday parade itself? It was huge. We were in one of the first dozen floats, and by the time we finished the several mile route, some floats hadn't even started yet!
Of course not everyone in West Allis knew about the parade. On our way back, pulling our enormous "Peace on Earth" float behind us, we all got a laugh when a car pulled alongside and asked: "Hey! Were you guys in a parade or something?"
It was a great time, and I was very excited to have had the opportunity to participate.

Here's another blog's take on the Parade. They were sitting in the vehicle directly in front of us, along with Miss West Allis herself!
